City Glass, Inc. is a family-owned, commercial, residential, and automotive glass company located in Bloomington, Indiana. The company was founded in 1972 by Thomas D. Parker, Jr. and Donald Snyder. The company has grown and evolved into today’s thriving glass business, serving Monroe County and surrounding areas.
Once you experience the work ethic, philosophy, and dedication of the people behind this Bloomington, Indiana based business, it’s easy to understand why they’ve been around for three decades. City Glass, Inc. owners, Tom and Carol Parker, will tell you that their success stems from quality, dedicated employees, dependable service and good ol’ fashioned hard work.
Tom Parker began his career in the glass field in 1968 at Circle City Glass in downtown Indianapolis. Backed by an entrepreneurial drive and desire to manage his own business, Tom partnered up with Don Snyder in Bloomington to open a small shop in 1972 called City Glass. Tom handled the installation work and Don maintained the office operations (until he retired in 1993). Within five years of opening their doors, the partners would purchase a local Pittsburgh Paint store, change the company name to City Glass & Paint and move to their present location at 719 W. 17th Street. For many years patrons knew us as City Glass & Paint. With the changing times City Glass & Paint closed the paint department in 2003 and expanded their glass and windows lines.
City Glass is a member of the Indiana Glass Association (IGA). The company is also active in the following organizations: the National Glass Association (NGA), the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council (AGRSS), Monroe County Chamber of Commerce and Owen County Chamber of Commerce. City Glass has earned a respected reputation for its quality craftsmanship, superior products and outstanding service. City Glass looks forward to providing quality, personal service to our customers throughout southern Indiana.
